About Hotel Antra Inn

Hotel Antra Inn is built around efficiency. Tidy air-conditioned rooms, prompt hot water, dependable WiFi, quick room service and a front desk that processes check-in without ceremony — the essentials done consistently, which is what most short-stay and working travellers actually want.

Its position close to the bus stand and station makes it especially useful for travellers with tight schedules: government and business visitors on one-night trips, travellers passing through between Jodhpur and Bikaner, and anyone catching a pre-dawn departure. Rooms run from Standard to Deluxe categories, with single-occupancy rates that solo travellers appreciate.

Leisure guests get the same value proposition — a clean base a short ride from Jaisalmer Fort and the haveli lanes, with the travel desk able to arrange a Sam Sand Dunes camp night, camel safari or a full-day taxi circuit to Kuldhara, Bada Bagh and the War Museum. It isn't a heritage experience, and doesn't pretend to be; it's a reliable, well-priced place to sleep in a city where the experiences happen outdoors.

  • Fast check-in for short and business stays

We had a very pleasant and awesome stay at this hotel. The hospitality was excellent. Staff were warm, polite and always helpful. The food was really good in taste and quality. The prices were very reasonable. Rooms are clean and pleasant. Hotel is easily approachable from every place in Jaisalmer and other food restaurants are also nearby. Additionally, as our train was late, they allowed us to stay for some time in hotel lobby. Highly recommended 💐✨👏🏻

Food was very good. A bit spicy though. Overall it was a good experience. Room was good. But we faced some issues due to 5-6 times power outages - 2 of which lasted more than 5-10 min.

Decent one located in an easily approachable area. While we were there, it was fully occupied by a marriage group, so bit loud during the day (and we were bit disturbed). Breakfast options are not so good and suggest not to take breakfast here. Room was quite good and service guys are quite helpful in case of problems. We stayed for one night so cannot comment on the cleaning done by the hotel. Towels etc were not so good, maybe it is better to get your own if you are sensitive to the same. Price was ok. Look wise, it looks quite good and impressive from outside.

Jaisalmer as a Stopover: Making 24 Hours Count

Plenty of travellers reach Jaisalmer with only a day — arriving on a morning train, leaving the next. It's tight, but it works if you accept one rule: skip nothing important and rush nothing else. The efficient version looks like this. Arrive, check in, rest briefly. Late morning at Jaisalmer Fort, then the haveli lanes below it. Retreat indoors through the afternoon heat. By 3:30 PM, leave for the Sam Sand Dunes — camel safari at sunset, folk performance, dinner — and either stay overnight at the camp or return to the city by 10 PM. You'll have seen the fort and the desert, which is Jaisalmer's essential pairing.

Transport Connections From Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer sits at the end of the line in western Rajasthan, and connections matter when planning. Trains link directly to Delhi, Jaipur and Jodhpur, with most services running overnight. Buses connect Jodhpur (5–6 hours) and Bikaner (6 hours) regularly from the bus stand. Jaisalmer Airport (JSA) handles limited flights, with connectivity now extending through the year via Jaipur — see our guide to reaching Jaisalmer for full options. If you're moving on to the desert triangle — Jodhpur and Bikaner — Jaisalmer is usually the western anchor of the loop.

The Standard Full-Day Desert Circuit

The most efficient use of a Jaisalmer day is a single westward circuit by taxi — see our taxi service guide for how to book one. Leave by mid-morning: first Bada Bagh, where the royal cenotaphs photograph beautifully; then Kuldhara, the village abandoned overnight two centuries ago; then the Jaisalmer War Museum on the Sam road, with its tanks, aircraft and the story of the 1971 Battle of Longewala. Arrive at the Sam Sand Dunes by 4:30 PM for the camel safari, and end with the bonfire cultural evening at a desert camp. One vehicle, one day, four experiences.

Choosing a Hotel by Purpose

Not every Jaisalmer trip needs a heritage haveli. Travellers here for one night, for work, or passing through are better served by proximity to transport, quick service and honest pricing. Travellers here for four nights with family may want a rooftop restaurant and a larger room. The mistake is paying heritage prices for a room you'll occupy for six hours, or booking a bare room for a week-long stay. Match the property to the trip.

Weather and Timing

October to March is Jaisalmer's window. Working travellers visiting between April and June should plan meetings and movement for early morning and evening — daytime temperatures cross 45°C, and even short walks become taxing. Air-conditioned transport is not a luxury in those months. Winter, by contrast, requires warm clothing after sunset, particularly at the dunes, where December nights can fall close to 5°C.

Booking Practicalities

For one-night stays, confirm your check-out time — a 10 AM check-out combined with a late-night train means arranging luggage storage, which most properties provide free. If you're booking a desert camp for the same trip, do it through your hotel rather than at the dune gate; gate prices are negotiated in the open, inclusions are vague, and travellers routinely report paying extra for the camel ride they assumed was included.
