Sam Road, Jaisalmer
Experience the real desert life
Shriji Resort solves the problem every group organiser runs into at Sam: most desert camps are built for couples and small families, and fall apart when a large group arrives at once. Here the infrastructure is sized for volume — open grounds that hold a large gathering, buffet dining that serves a full coach without a long queue, and coach-capable parking. Share your expected headcount when enquiring and we'll confirm exact tent capacity and category mix for your group. Coordinated by Shrinath Adventures.
The same setup serves desert functions: engagement parties, pre-wedding events, milestone birthdays and corporate celebrations, with folk performances, bonfires and dune sundowners built into the programme.
Running a Group Desert Night
The logistics that decide whether a group evening works:
- Arrival timing. Aim to reach camp by 4:00 PM. Sunset waits for nobody, and a group that arrives at 5:30 misses the safari entirely.
- Camel allocation. Confirm camel numbers in advance for your headcount — a large group needs coordination, not improvisation at the dune.
- Meal planning. Fix the menu, headcount and any Jain or allergy requirements in writing beforehand. Jain meals in particular need separate preparation.
- Vehicle staging. Coaches need turning space and a drop point; confirm this rather than assuming.
- Rooming list. Send it a day ahead so tent allocation isn't done in the dark with the group waiting.
Corporate Offsites in the Thar
Jaisalmer works unusually well for offsites because the reward is geographic. Sessions run in the morning at a city hotel, the group rests through the afternoon, and the evening moves to the dunes — jeep safaris, a bonfire, Manganiyar musicians and dinner under open sky. Teams remember that night long after the agenda is forgotten. For the city half, see our group tour package and hotel options with conference facilities.
Desert Functions and Celebrations
Contact us with your event requirements — expected guest count, seated versus standing format, and any decoration or sound needs — and we'll confirm exactly what the property can offer for your date, rather than promising specifics we haven't checked for you.
Sightseeing for Groups
The efficient group circuit runs west from the city in one direction: Bada Bagh for photographs, Kuldhara Village for the story of the overnight abandonment, the Jaisalmer War Museum for the 1971 Longewala account, then the camp for the evening. Institutional and defence-adjacent groups often add the full border day to Longewala and Tanot Mata Temple — 120 km each way, valid photo ID required for every participant.

Had a wonderful stay at Shree Ji Desert Resort, Jaisalmer. The location is perfect for experiencing the beauty and vibes of the Thar Desert. The resort has a beautiful ambience, comfortable rooms/tents, delicious food, and most importantly, very warm and helpful hospitality. The entire experience from the peaceful desert surroundings to the Rajasthani atmosphere was truly memorable. The staff was courteous and always ready to help, which made the stay even more special.
