Sia Resort
Sam Sand Dunes, Jaisalmer
Experience the real desert life
Sia Resort is small on purpose. Where the big camps at Sam run dozens of tents and a stage, this one keeps numbers low and designs everything around two people: tents spaced for privacy, verandahs facing open sand rather than the courtyard, and an evening programme that stays intimate instead of becoming a show. Reservations through Shrinath Adventures.
Tents are air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms, quality bedding and soft lighting. The kitchen handles private dining well — a candlelit table on a nearby dune, a rooftop-style setup at the tent verandah, or a quiet corner of the dining area — and the team is used to arranging proposals, anniversaries and honeymoon surprises without turning them into a spectacle.
Why Couples Choose a Small Camp
At peak season, the difference between a large camp and a small one is the difference between a concert and a conversation. Smaller camps mean the folk musicians perform to a dozen people rather than a hundred, the bonfire has space around it, and the walk to a quiet dune takes two minutes rather than being impossible. For honeymooners, that scale is the entire point.
Romantic Add-Ons
Confirm availability and current pricing for each when booking:
- Private candlelight dinner on a dune — your own table, chef and server, torches set in a circle.
- Tent decoration — flowers, candles and a cake for anniversaries or honeymoons.
- Couple photography — golden-hour shoot on the dunes with a local photographer.
- Private camel ride — just the two of you and a handler, to a secluded sunset point.
Book these at least 24 hours ahead so the team can prepare properly.
A Two-Night Honeymoon Structure
Most couples do one night here and one in the city, but two nights at the camp works beautifully if the desert is your priority. Day one: arrive, camel safari, folk evening, dinner. Day two: sunrise, a slow morning, an afternoon jeep trip to quieter dunes or a visit to Kuldhara Village, then a private dune dinner in the evening. Day three: sunrise, breakfast, departure. See our honeymoon package and the Rajasthan lakes and dunes honeymoon for full itineraries pairing Udaipur with Jaisalmer.
When to Come
February is the most requested month for couples — pleasant days, the Desert Festival atmosphere, and the desert at its most photogenic. November and December are equally lovely with colder nights, which most couples enjoy given the bonfire and quilts. Book six weeks ahead for peak dates; small camps fill fastest.
Practical Notes
Winter nights at Sam approach 5°C — the AC tents have heating, but pack a jacket for the outdoor evening. Carry a power bank. If you're planning a proposal, tell the team in advance rather than on arrival; the good setups need a day's notice and a scouted location.

My stay at SIA Resort was truly unforgettable. The night view was absolutely stunning, and the service was great from the food to the live shows. Stargazing there was magical — honestly, there’s no better place for it. A special thanks to Shalendra, who was very welcoming and made our experience smooth and enjoyable.
