Om Resort
Sam Sand Dunes, Jaisalmer
Experience the real desert life
Om Resort proves that the desert experience doesn't need a premium price. Clean Swiss tents with attached washrooms and hot water, a pure-vegetarian kitchen that prepares Jain meals separately on request, and the full evening programme — sunset camel safari, bonfire, Manganiyar folk performance, Rajasthani dinner and sunrise on untouched sand — all included in the rate. Bookings through Shrinath Adventures.
This is the camp we recommend most often to families travelling with elderly parents who keep strict dietary practice, to pilgrimage-route travellers, and to anyone who wants the experience without the upgrade conversation.
What You Actually Get for the Money

The last row is the important one. Nobody at Sam gets a better sunset by paying more.
Pure Vegetarian and Jain Dining
The kitchen at Om Resort is pure vegetarian throughout, and Jain meals — prepared separately, without onion, garlic and root vegetables — are available with advance notice. Mention your requirement when booking so the kitchen can plan for it properly.
The Evening
Arrival from 3:30 PM with welcome tea. Sunset camel safari at 5:00. Bonfire and folk performance from 7:00 — Manganiyar musicians on kamaicha and khartal, Kalbeliya dancers in mirrored skirts. Rajasthani buffet dinner at 8:30. Stargazing afterwards, then sunrise over the dunes before breakfast and check-out.
Who This Camp Suits
Families on a budget, groups of friends splitting costs, backpackers who still want an attached washroom, and travellers whose priority is the desert night rather than the tent. See our budget backpacker deal and the budget desert camp guide for the full low-cost approach to Jaisalmer.
Season and Practical Notes
October to March. Non-AC tents are perfectly comfortable November through February — the issue is early October and March afternoons, when heat lingers. Winter nights fall near 5°C: heavy quilts are provided, but bring a jacket. Carry a power bank; electricity may run limited hours. Book early for December and the Desert Festival window, when even value camps fill.

Our stay at this desert resort was an unforgettable experience. Surrounded by beautiful sand dunes and the peaceful desert atmosphere, the resort offered the perfect blend of luxury and traditional culture. The view during sunset was absolutely breathtaking and made our trip truly special. The rooms and tents were clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated in authentic desert style. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. The cultural performances, folk music, and traditional food added a magical touch to the evening. The camel safari and desert activities were well organized and full of adventure. Everything was managed perfectly, and the hospitality was outstanding throughout our stay. If anyone wants to enjoy the true beauty of the desert with comfort and luxury, this resort is highly recommended. We would love to visit again.
