About Desert Spring

Experience the real desert life

Desert Spring brings resort-style comfort to the Sam Sand Dunes. Landscaped grounds, air-conditioned tents with en-suite bathrooms and a proper restaurant operation give this camp a resort character, while the evening keeps every element of the classic desert night — sunset camel safari, bonfire, Manganiyar folk performance and Rajasthani dinner under open sky. Bookings via Shrinath Adventures.

The property suits families and longer stays particularly well. Where most desert camps are built for a single night — arrive at four, leave at nine the next morning — the grounds here justify two nights, with a slow, restful afternoon between the arrival evening and the departure sunrise.

Why Two Nights Changes the Trip

The standard one-night desert stay is beautiful but compressed: you arrive, ride, watch, eat, sleep, wake and leave. A second night opens the desert's quieter hours — a mid-morning walk on cool sand before the heat, an afternoon doing nothing at all, a second sunset from a different dune, and a full night of stargazing without an early alarm. Families with children benefit most; so do photographers, who need more than one golden hour to work with.

Facilities That Matter in the Desert

FacilityWhy it matters
Air-conditioningEssential in shoulder season, heating essential in December
En-suite bathroomsNo crossing sand at night
Power backupDesert supply is intermittent; fans and charging depend on it
Restaurant kitchenEnables meals outside fixed buffet hours, which matters with children

The Evening Programme

Afternoon arrival with time to settle in before the evening programme begins. Tea at 4:30, sunset camel safari at 5:00, bonfire and folk performance from 7:00, Rajasthani buffet dinner at 8:30 with veg and Jain options, and stargazing afterwards on the open sand beyond the camp lights.

Combining With Sightseeing

The camp sits on the Sam side, which puts the desert circuit on your doorstep: Bada Bagh royal cenotaphs, the abandoned village of Kuldhara, and the Jaisalmer War Museum with its tanks, artillery and the story of the 1971 Battle of Longewala. The city's Jaisalmer Fort and haveli trail are an hour away. Our family fun package builds all of this into a four-day itinerary.

Season

October to March. Early October and March afternoons still carry heat — precisely when the air-conditioning earns its place. December and January bring the finest daytime weather and the coldest nights, near 5°C. Camps close April to June.

🌿 Review: Spring Resort – A Memorable Traditional Experience I recently visited Spring Resort, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience filled with warmth, tradition, and excellent hospitality. The highlight of the event was the beautifully organized Traditional Function, which showcased rich cultural elements and created a truly vibrant atmosphere. A special mention goes to Mr. Sunil Parihar, whose outstanding anchoring elevated the entire event. His energy, confidence, and engaging presence kept the audience connected throughout. He managed the flow with ease and brought charm and enthusiasm to every moment. Overall, Spring Resort provided a perfect blend of comfort, tradition, and entertainment. Highly recommended for anyone looking to celebrate special moments in a serene and well-managed setting.

We stayed 1 night at this camp and were pleasantly surprised by the degree of comfort provided by the tent. Huge space, large comfy bed, both heating and air conditioning available. Lovely friendly staff, well maintained clean grounds. The camel ride was short to the dunes, but our young camel guides were so friendly, funny and patient, and happily waited for over an hours while we watched the sunset. We felt very safe. The evening entertainment was good, although I wasn’t so keen on the food. Overall I would recommend this camp
